Ned Bannon encounters rustlers who shoot him and leave him for dead, but he is rescued by a wagon train bound for California. As he recovers, Bannon grows suspicious of the two outsiders guiding the train into a dead-end valley owned by his hostile half-brother. Despite lingering animosity from the Civil War, Bannon attempts to warn the settlers and prevent a violent confrontation.
