Set in Mexico, 1915, the story follows US bank robber Tom Bryan, who dreams of retiring in Mexico. The country is in turmoil, with the once-revered revolutionary leader Pancho Villa now deposed and confined to his home province by a rival tyrant. A band led by Colonel Castro, loyal to Villa, plots to restore him to power by robbing a gold train. Tom Bryan is secretly paid to assist in this daring raid. However, delivering the gold to Pancho Villa across dangerous Yaqui territory becomes a deadly challenge, as local Indians and federales (government troops) close in. Unexpected dangers and shifting alliances put everyone's plans at risk.
