Clay Hardin, a San Antonio rancher, is driven off his land by cattle rustlers during a range war. Determined to bring the mastermind, Roy Stuart, to justice, Hardin hides in Mexico until he acquires one of Stuart's tally books, revealing evidence of stolen cattle sales. Returning to San Antonio, Hardin faces threats from Stuart and his partner Legare, who will stop at nothing to prevent him from presenting the evidence in court. Meanwhile, Jeanne Starr, a captivating dance hall performer under contract to Stuart and Legare, arrives in town and quickly becomes enamored with Hardin.
