Set just after the Civil War, "Apache Ambush" follows President Abraham Lincoln as he enlists two former enemies—a Union officer and a former Confederate—to drive a herd of cattle from Texas to Kansas. Their mission is to help feed civilians facing food shortages. The journey becomes perilous due to attacks from marauding Apache Indians and a gang of Mexican bandits, both eager to seize the new Henry repeating rifles the drovers are carrying.
