Wealthy John Preston arrives in the small town of Deanbridge, where he invests in local businesses and becomes involved in community affairs. He meets local belle Sally and wins her heart, convincing her to leave her current boyfriend and agree to marry him. However, Preston begins to have strange dreams about Sylvia, a beautiful woman from his past who resurfaces in Deanbridge, seeking to blackmail him.
