A singing soldier (Johnnie Johnston), newly returned home from service, finds himself dissatisfied with working in his father's opera company or rekindling his relationship with his former girlfriend. During his time in the service, he met an aquacade showgirl (Esther Williams), and upon his return, he seeks her out again. Romance blossoms between them.
