Following the end of World War I, Lloyd Hart returns to practicing law, former saloon keeper George Hally turns to bootlegging, and out-of-work Eddie Bartlett becomes a cab driver. Eddie quickly builds a fleet of cabs by delivering bootleg liquor and hires Lloyd as his lawyer. As business grows, George partners with Eddie, and their rackets thrive—until love and rivalry begin to interfere with their success.
