After Eddie and his Mexican friend Ricardo are expelled from college—thanks to Ricardo placing a drunken Eddie in the girl's dormitory—Eddie unwittingly becomes involved in a bank robbery. Forced to drive the robbers to safety, he ends up being made to leave the USA for Mexico, with a persistent cop in pursuit. In Mexico, Ricardo helps Eddie evade arrest by introducing him as famed Spanish bullfighter Don Sebastian II. The charade becomes even more perilous when the detective, still suspicious, attends a bullfight to see Eddie perform. Meanwhile, Eddie tries to help Ricardo win the heart of the woman he loves, who is already engaged to a "real" Mexican involved in illegal activities. Amid the chaos, Eddie himself falls for Rosalie, the sister of Ricardo's love interest, who is eager to see the legendary Don Sebastian II confront a bull in the arena.
