Federal agent Rigby travels to a Central American island in pursuit of stolen aircraft engines. There, he encounters chief suspect Hintten and his wife Elizabeth, a sultry café singer. Rigby is also watched by Bealer, a "pie-shaped man" with sore feet, confirming he’s on the right track when Bealer tries to bribe him to leave the island. As Rigby and Elizabeth grow closer, the criminal gang realizes another kind of bribe is at play, putting everyone in danger as tensions rise.
