John Forbes is a family man weary of the routine grind as an insurance company executive. His mundane life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Mona Stevens, a captivating femme fatale. Mona's boyfriend has embezzled from a store insured by Forbes' company and lavished her with stolen gifts. Sent to reclaim the ill-gotten goods, Forbes is drawn into an affair with Mona while her boyfriend is imprisoned.
