Pete Kelly's Blues 1955 DVD - Jack Webb / Janet Leigh
Set in 1927 Kansas City, "Pete Kelly's Blues" follows Pete Kelly and his jazz band, who play nightly at a speakeasy. Their world is disrupted when a local gangster begins to take over, leading to the murder of their drummer. Reluctantly, Pete gives in to the gangster's demands, which includes hiring the thug's alcoholic girlfriend as a singer. As consequences mount, Pete realizes he's made a grave mistake by selling out, and sees that the wealthy Ivy is the only decent thing left in his life.
