Mr. Peabody, a middle-aged Bostonian, is on vacation in the Caribbean with his wife when he hears mysterious, wordless singing coming from an uninhabited rock in the bay. While fishing nearby, he catches something extraordinary—a mermaid. He brings her home, and despite her inability to speak, he finds himself falling in love with her. Unsurprisingly, his wife refuses to believe that the being in the bathtub is anything other than a large fish, leading to a series of complications with comedic and gentle charm.
