In London, a serial killer is targeting young women whom he meets through personal newspaper ads. Before each crime, he taunts the police by sending them a cryptic poem announcing the murder. After a dancer vanishes, the police recruit her American friend, Sandra Carpenter, to respond to personal ads and help lure the killer out of hiding.
