Set in early 20th-century London, "Hangover Square" follows George Harvey Bone, a composer under intense pressure while writing a piano concerto. Plagued by disorienting blackouts whenever he hears dissonant sounds, George often finds himself in unfamiliar areas of the city after these episodes. Each time, he learns that a murder has occurred nearby. Despite reassurances from a Scotland Yard doctor that he is uninvolved, George is advised to reduce his stress and lead a more ordinary life. While seeking relaxation at a modest music hall, George meets Netta Longdon, a singer who becomes his new muse. Inspired by Netta, George creates material for his concerto, which Netta repurposes as songs to further her own career. Believing Netta reciprocates his affections, George becomes entangled in conflicts with his girlfriend, Barbara Chapman, whose father Sir Henry desires George's concerto for a soirée. The mounting pressures lead George into another dangerous blackout. Cast: - Laird Cregar as George Harvey Bone - Linda Darnell as Netta Longdon - George Sanders as Dr. Allan Middleton - Glenn Langan as Eddie Carstairs - Faye Marlowe as Barbara Chapman - Alan Napier as Sir Henry Chapman Runtime: 77 minutes.
