Since childhood, Bart Tare has had a deep fascination with guns. After returning from the army, his friends take him to a carnival, where he meets Annie, a talented sharpshooter and sideshow performer who shares his passion for firearms. The two quickly fall in love, elope, and marry. However, Annie is dissatisfied with their lack of money and persuades Bart to embark with her on a daring cross-country crime spree. Although Bart is reluctant to use guns for violence, he is inexorably pulled into a world of crime and destruction by Annie's reckless and greedy nature.
