In the sixth entry of Columbia's "Crime Doctor" series, Dr. Robert Ordway (Warner Baxter) is consulted by an ex-serviceman experiencing temporary memory loss and waking up in unfamiliar areas of the city. When Ordway visits one of these locations late at night, he discovers his patient has been murdered. He then meets Irene Cotter (Ellen Drew), the victim's fiancée, who is struggling with her own issues. Irene's sister, Natalie (also played by Ellen Drew), has dominated her life, but Irene hasn't seen her for three years.
