Bill Harper and Petronilla Brand, a young couple, unintentionally become involved in a brandy smuggling racket after a series of mishaps and accidents. When Tony Rackham's boat accidentally sinks, Bill and Patricia agree to take him across the Channel on their own boat. To their surprise, they soon find the boat filled with kegs of brandy, leading them into a madcap adventure evading Customs officials through both intentional and unintentional means.
