Rocky and Dan, war buddies, are prowl car cops working the night shift. Dan is a cynic who sees all lawbreakers as scum, while Rocky has a more lenient outlook. Both men are drawn to the radio voice of communicator Kate Mallory, but in person, Kate is reluctant to get involved with men whose lives are constantly in danger. When Rocky and Dan inadvertently make trouble for murderous racketeer Ritchie Garris, he swears vengeance, putting Kate’s fears to the test.
