The Steel Trap (1952)
A bank officer discovers a loophole in the U.S. extradition treaty with Brazil and decides to exploit it. On Friday, he steals one million dollars from the bank, knowing the theft will not be discovered until Monday when the bank reopens. He and his unsuspecting wife fly to Brazil, but complications arise as they reach New Orleans. There, his wife learns the real reason for their hurried journey and the crime he has committed. Distraught, she leaves him and returns home. Now alone, he must battle with his conscience and race against time to return the stolen money before the bank opens on Monday morning.
