Lamont Cranston, secretly known as "The Shadow," intervenes to stop an attempted robbery at an attorney's office. When the police arrive, Cranston is forced to assume the lawyer's identity. Before he can escape, he receives a call for the attorney to meet Delthern, a wealthy client who wants a new will drafted. During their meeting, Delthern is suddenly shot, drawing Cranston into a complex new mystery filled with intrigue and danger.
