Set during World War II, "Sea Wife" follows the harrowing journey of four survivors whose vessel is sunk by a Japanese submarine off the coast of Singapore. The group consists of a beautiful nun (Joan Collins), a black purser (Cy Grant), a military officer (Richard Burton), and a racist businessman (Basil Sydney). Together, they escape in a small lifeboat and must ration their supplies and cope with the relentless sun as they drift through the ocean. As tensions mount within the group, the officer develops romantic feelings for the nun, unaware of her true identity.
