American GI Ernie Williams, who is admittedly weak-kneed, bears an uncanny resemblance to British Colonel MacKenzie. Williams, a master of imitation and disguise, is asked to impersonate the Colonel to facilitate a secret mission. Unbeknownst to him, the Colonel has recently been targeted by assassins. When the Colonel's plane goes down, Williams must maintain the disguise to confuse the Nazis about the plans for D-Day.
