Rich playgirl Kit Jordan (formerly Katherine Lawson Chandler) is vacationing in Acapulco with her current husband, Pete Jordan, who once worked the Acapulco shores as a beach boy catering to wealthy women. Trouble begins when Billy Andrews, a fellow beach boy and Pete's old acquaintance, is found dead on the shore with a bracelet inscribed 'Love is thin ice.' While the police investigate whether Billy's death was murder or suicide, personal conflicts mount: Billy's old girlfriend, Carol, sets her sights on Pete, and another beach boy, Hank, grows close to Kit, challenging the stability of the Jordans' marriage.
