Roy 'Mad Dog' Earle, recently broken out of prison by an old associate, is enlisted to assist with a planned robbery. When the heist goes awry and a man is killed, Earle is forced to flee, pursued relentlessly by the police and a fervent press. Taking refuge amongst the peaks of the Sierra Nevadas, Earle becomes the subject of an intense siege. Amidst this turmoil, his relationships with two women formed during the robbery’s planning put him in an even more precarious position—raising the question of whether these newfound attachments will be his undoing.
