Scotland Yard Inspector George Gideon begins his day poorly after receiving a traffic citation from a young police officer. His 'typical day' quickly spirals into a series of complex challenges: discovering a trusted detective has accepted bribes, pursuing an escaped maniac who has murdered a girl, tracking a young woman suspected of a payroll robbery, and helping to thwart a bank heist. At the end of his long, eventful day, Gideon returns home only to find that his daughter is dating the very policeman who ticketed him that morning.
