China Seas (1935)
Captain Alan Gaskell commands a ship traveling from Hong Kong to Singapore. Attempting to leave behind his hard-drinking ways, Gaskell becomes involved with the refined Englishwoman, Sybil Barclay. However, his former lover, Dolly Portland, grows jealous of their relationship and is determined to win him back, despite her brash and uncivilized demeanor. The voyage takes a dangerous turn when gold-seeking Asian pirates temporarily seize the ship, and Gaskell discovers that Dolly and her companion, Jamesy McArdle, may be involved in the crime.
