Set in the late 19th century, "Caravan" follows writer Richard Darrell who saves Don Carlos from two robbers and is subsequently entrusted with delivering a valuable necklace to Spain. Leaving behind his fiancée, Oriana, Richard embarks on the perilous journey. He soon encounters Wycroft, a henchman of Sir Francis Castleton, an aristocrat determined to win over Oriana. Attacked, robbed, and left for dead, Richard survives but loses his memory. He marries Rosal, a gypsy girl, while Oriana, believing Richard to be dead, marries the scheming Sir Francis. The paths of all involved intertwine once more, leading to further complications as secrets and loyalties are revealed.
